1. Flathead Neuroscience Researchers Awarded $1.4M Grant

This week a Flathead neuroscience company received a $1.4 million Small Business Innovation Research grant from the National Institute of Health.

Expesicor was awarded this grant for its “cutting edge research on treating and preventing neurological disorders and traumatic brain injuries,” according to the Daily Interlake. The company will receive $343,042 over the first year of the grant and upon approval will receive the rest of the grant over three years. Two Bear Capital, a venture capital firm based in Whitefish, also made an investment in the company.

1. Montana High Tech Business Alliance Releases Startups To Watch List

Are you looking for a high-tech job in Montana, but you don’t know where to start? Consider checking out the Montana High Tech Business Alliance’s Montana Startups to Watch 2019!

The 2019 list includes 11 companies across Montana. The High Tech Business Alliance worked with experts at Next Frontier Capital, Frontier Angels, the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center, MSU Blackstone  LaunchPad, and UM Blackstone  LaunchPad for nominations. Companies must have been five years old or younger and fit two additional pieces of criteria.
